Security Audit

As part of our consultancy service, Netstar’s qualified and experienced engineers routinely conduct security audits.

The consultant will discuss the role I.T. plays in your business and assess the various threats to your system before devising a bespoke security solution tailored to your individual needs.

What our security audit involves:

The security auditor will attend your offices to conduct personal interviews, a vulnerability scan, an examination of operating system settings and analyses of network shares and historical data.

A typical audit will include:

• Check of appropriate use of passwords i.e. whether you already have a strong password policy; passwords of at least 8 characters including numbers and characters
• Review of user, services and security accounts
• Review of web browsing histories
• Identification of peer-to-peer networking and instant messaging clients
• Content filtering overview
• Review of any disaster recovery plan (if you have one)
• Data loss risk assessment i.e. via system or disgruntled staff
• General vulnerability risk assessment
• Unauthorised software installation
• Unauthorised remote access software installation
• Review of existing anti-virus and anti spam systems
