Employee workstation slows down – due to low disk space. Employee can’t save work and could potentially lose work in progress. Employee has to spend time finding items to delete to free up space. Issue will likely recur.

PCs crash and servers fail – this is potentially the result of unpatched workstations and servers. This could result in employees losing work, employees being unable to access files on servers, and temporary loss of other services such as email.

Cyber attack and data theft – Another potential impact of not installing updates for servers, workstations, applications, operating systems etc. Applications and operating systems can contain vulnerabilities which the manufacturer releases patches and security updates for once they become known. It is vital that these are installed, as cyber criminals can take advantage of these vulnerabilities to gain access to your business networks. This could result in data theft, loss or encryption, or system-wide outages.

Loss of Working Time Won't Be the Worst of Your Problems...

These problems can all result in a lot of working time being lost by your employees. You, of course, still have to pay them while they're unable to be productive - eating directly into your bottom line.
